I was at my wits end when I trained my 2.5 ds. He would make way too many accidents and I would flare up and we’d both be miserable. Til I decided to let it go.
I never ask him if he needs to go, instead I would throw in reminders like “are u dry? Will you tell mommy when you need to go?” This sort of makes the child feel like it’s totally his responsibility. If he makes an accident, I have nothing to do with this. He has to change his clothes by himself, take a rag and clean the mess. By now I find myself not minding at all when makes on the floor, which has become farther and fewer between b”h
