just wondering how prevalent it is to eat only peeled produce. do you eat your apples with the peel or only without? do you eat other produce that cannot be peeled I.e. broccoli and such. also, what 'sect' of Judaism to you identify as?

Chabad eats only peeled (so no broccoli), and is careful that peels should not come in contact with the surfaces or dishes. other than romaine lettuce for seder, though most use romaine for the rest of pesach too

Eat all produce, don't peel it. JPF. I thought the peeling thing was only Chabad (or just Chassidius). Curious to see of anyone else actually does that

We don’t eat unpeeled fruits or veggies (so no broccoli either). We’re chassidish.

Same here. Eat all produce, unpeeled. I also thought it was a chassidish thing.

We are Chassidish.
My husband eats only things he can peel.
He is not makpid on the rest of the family. I'm not from a Chassidish home and it was and is a bit too much for me to take on.
Over the years I have become much more makpid about things with peels not touching the surfaces. If a piece of cutlerly falls on the floor (did I say "A" piece? Ha!) it goes on top of the fridge till Pesach is over and doesn't get used till next year. A towel falls on the floor? That's it. Not easy.

Why can't you wash them?

Oh, and if you were referring to the cutlery - Nope. Once something hits the chometzdik floor (and you can be sure shoes bring chometz in) it's OUT till next year. This is very common by chassidim.

Some people have this minhag that any cutlery that lands on floor doesn't get used rest of pesach anymore
