I know I used to have a stick blender for pesach but I can't find it. If I want to make a creamy type soup (say zucchini and potato) and get it all really smooth, can I use an electric hand mixer (like the sort you'd use to whip egg whites or mix a cake batter)? Or will it stay lumpy? I really don't want to run out and buy anything at this point. I don't have a pesadic blender and my food processor has a crack so it's fine for slicing and shredding but liquid leaks all over the place.

The mixer won't blend it.
How about finely shredding the veggies in your food processor and making a shredded soup?
