Tongue comes in plastic vacuum pack casing. I always boil up tongue with plastic & then remove after cooked.
& then peel & prepare....
Does anyone remove plastic prior to boiling up?

Yes. I remove the tongue from the plastic and put the tongue and all the juices that were in the bag in a pot. I cover with water and cook for approximately 1 1/2 hours. While warm I peel it. Always comes out good. I never considered to cook in the plastic bag.

Always remove the plastic. And replace the water sometime during cooking.

I remove the plastic & cook in water till boiling. I then spill the water & cook it in fresh water for about 1 1/2 hours.

People cook food in plastic? That doesn't sound very healthy.
