My dd is in seminary and her 19th birthday is coming up soon. Any ideas what I can get her as a gift? How to make the day special even though we are so far away? Thanx!!

In Israel?
Send her a birthday cake at seminary, to share with her friends.
And a sum of money. Tell her to use it to buy something meaningful for herself before she comes home. A kiddush cup, challah cover, whatever. Something she can use in her own home someday, and remember her time in seminary.

Thanx so much. Any idea where to order a reasonably priced cake that’s mehadrin in Israel? Also, how much $ is reasonable to give her to spend on a present for herself from Israel?

If you can afford it, send her money to go out for ice cream with her friends (treating them if you have no budget limit) + a gift (like a siddur etc)

Can you reach out to her roommates?
Can you send them $ and have them make her a party- take her out on your behalf (and say it is from you) for ice cream/pick up or order a cake/go out to dinner/go somewhere fun?
Have them decorate her room or get balloons?
My 18yo would love to take on such a project-I am sure her roommates would be excited to also.
Regarding the gift, decide based on what your budget affords- how much do you usually spend on birthdays?
