Nobody touches my phone but me, occasionally dh (who asks first) if his is having problems. There is no reason to give your kids access to your phone and many reasons not to.

It's not babyish to deny access to your phone. A phone is a personal and private device.
I'm shocked as well that you'd let them read your messages.
If I want to show my kids something on my phone I'll hold it. I don't have any games on my phone so that's a non issue for me.
I also teach my kids not to look over my shoulder as I'm typing a message. I tell them it's not mentchlich to try to read what I'm typing.
There's nothing wrong with teaching boundaries to children. It's part of raising them.
I suggest you get a heavily filtered kiddie tablet like the Amazon fire and let them play games on that.

I installed appslock on my phone. I lock the apps that I don't want my son to see. It's a pain because I need to put in a passcode to see my texts, but that way I can let him use my phone for certain things.
