I want to buy new dining room chairs
I want chairs that are practical for children, nice looking, and will last well
I don’t want to spend so much but would spend more for good quality
Any recommendations?
Are you happy with what you have?
Where did you buy?
Tx!!

Restaurant chairs are super for this purpose. Sturdy, easy to get cheap.
We went a different route and took family hand me downs and bought second hand wood chairs and covered the seats with fake leather which wipes easily. We have 3 different sets of chairs at the table that look similar but don't match. Our kids have destroyed 4 chairs. DH does a lot of wood glue furniture repair.

Random thoughts on the topic - all these things are what I hate about my chairs.
Go narrow. Can fit more chairs at the table.
Wood backs last longer. Less fabric to maintain. (But many times more money).
If you get removable cushions the fabric is cheaper to repair later. The non removable seats are a pain to fix.
Get practical colored vinyl or fabric.
No ribbons as edging.
No fabric on arm rests.

I have the same 7 issues! I think we've been burnt by the same chair! Lol.
What's your budget OP?
It really depends what you can afford.
There are chairs that don't have the issues above and are in the $150 range but they're not out if this world beautiful.
Then there are the $350 and the $500 and the $700 tufted leather ones. You know...

I love crate and barrel chairs (the style of them). I waited and waited until I found someone selling a set in AMAZING condition (they were kept in a dining room he hardly ever used) for an amazing price on craigs list (I kept looking there basically every day). Not sure if you'd consider used but it's worth looking up...
