Now for favorites. List your must-have frum or Jewish books. If a book is not frum, it should have, at the very least, a strong Jewish theme. Don't include a completely secular book with an author who happens to be Jewish.
List one book for at least 5 of the following categories:
1) Fiction
2) Non-fiction of any type (can include Holocaust)*
3) Holocaust (non-fiction only)*
4) YA
5) Cookbook
6) Mussar/Jewish philosophy/ Halacha/ Knowledge
7) Short stories/ anthology
If you have more than one for one of the categories, you'll have to write a new post, with a new list containing at least five categories! (*Except 2 and 3. You can list two Holocaust books in these two categories. Holocaust books can also be about refugees to the Soviet Union, people hidden on the "Aryan" side, etc. Doesn't have to be about concentration camps.)
"Like" if you like at least 3/5 of the books. "Hug" only in extreme protest of a terrible selection : )
EDIT: Adding another two categories:
8) Historical Fiction
9) Personal reflections/ Memoir

Do you mean The Scent of Snow Flowers by Klein? About a young woman and her baby pretending to be Hungarian during the war?
That was an incredibly haunting book although I wish she would have ended with a postscript about the fate of the others who were mentioned throughout the book.

I llove books and I love breaking rules!
-Scent of snowflowers I read thousands of times and wish thered be a Sequal
-I promise you: holocaust book written by Yael mermelstein through the eyes of a child in poem form. Of course one cant “love” a holocaust book but it tugged on my heartstrings
-Second chances was great fiction from yael mermelstein
because Ellie was quirky and I love quirky people
- non fiction: from central park to sinai was nice, by neuberger and How Free Will Works by David Lieberman was deep and informative
