So I'm finally getting around to print photos. Should I choose glossy or matte finish?

I prefer matte as there less likely to get fingerprints on them and look more real rather then "glass"

I've always gone with matte but I think it's just a matter of personal preference.

Matte! I find the pictures print more true to color with matte, but that may just be with the specific places I get mine printed. In general I also like the look so much better.

One more vote for matte. So annoying when you have to tilt glossy pix this way and that so that the reflection doesn’t hit you in the eye and obscure the picture.

I would say I never understood why people get glossy, but for a hanging picture, it's probably much sharper. I still get matte all around. Smile

I think glossy looks sharper and I like that, but I always get matte because fingerprints.

I have a lot of pictures hanging in my house. Glossy metal, matte prints, canvas wraps ,you name it I have it. All of them are equally sharp. I really don't like the glossy one because of the reflections. You can't see the picture properly.

Wow, everyone chose matte! Thanks all, I've gone and ordered that.

It's interesting that the default on these sites is always glossy. That's why I was second guessing ordering matte originally, since I thought that means it's less popular.
