We will be in the Montreal area in July. Any nice places to visit in the area? Thanks!

Mt tremblant! It's about an hour and half north of Montreal but so worth it!

There are great ideas posted, but some of the information is not up to date.
In Montreal:
- Olympic stadium & nearby attractions (ride up the tower, the botanical gardens, the planetarium.)
- Mont Royal (hiking, pedal boating). The view from the top is well worth the climb!
- Old Montreal (take a stroll, visit the archaeology museum at Pointe au Callieres)
- the Old Port (ride the ferris wheel, climb the clock tower, check out the science museum and much more.)
- Rent a bike or motorbike and ride the bike path along the Lachine canal.
Day trips around Montreal:
- Mont Tremblant!
- Granby zoo
- Parc safari
- Ottawa, 2 hr drive. (Tour the parliament, the Royal Canadian Mint, see the chainging of the guard)
- Quebec city, 2.5-3 hr drive. Way too much to do to list here! It is a magical place.
