I will be traveling to Florence in a couple of weeks and wanted to know how I can find out if the kosher restaurant there is ok to eat at? I have asked my lor and one of the American Kashrus agencies and both said they don’t know about kosher in Italy.
Anyone know where I can find reliable information?
Thanks!

When we were there, there was only one kosher restaurant called Ruth's. Although there are people who ate there, we did not based on DH's research. Since then, it no longer has a local hashgacha AFAIK and is instead under the supervision of the IKC, which is based in NY and considered unreliable by many since it gives hashgacha to places open on Shabbos.
Do your own research to see if anything has changed, but if not, I'd be wary about eating at a place supervised by a Rabbi across the ocean. We were only there for 2 days and 1 night, so we brought food from Venice or Rome to tide us over.

Thanks for the reply. So when I emailed Ruth’s they told me I could email their Rabbi (who gives the hasgacha?) Rabbi Spagnoletto but I couldn’t really find anything about him when I researched online. So it’s super confusing!
