The flu lasts a week, with the only potential long-term implication pneumonia--which is no joke. I had a colleague get it and has been out since early March, she ended up on a ventilator. I had the flu vaccine and missed a day in the office (was mostly over the weekend, I didn't know I had had the flu until it went through my whole house and most of my neighborhood) |
As per the CDC, the mortality rate from the flu is as high as 1 in 1,500.
As per the CDC, the mortality rate from measles in the 60s was 1 in 10,000.
