Hi all.
We do not have the minhag of doing upsherin, but would like to do it anyway.
I am envisioning a small party in our house.
The honey cake with the pasuk on it.
The eggs with the pasuk on it.
Licking honey off the alef beis.
Arts and crafts activity with Torah shapes.
Giving out pekelach on way out.
Any advice on how to run this? Should be about 10-15 kids and 20 adults.

No one needs to run anything. Let the adults schmooze and the kids play and do arts and crafts. Mabe have 1 or 2 older kids supervising the arts and crafts.
Let ppl take turns taking a snip.
Put out finger food and let everyone enjoy.
Mazel tov!

Make everything in advance so that you can be there for your child and guests during party.
Give the kid the haircut before the guests arrive. We did it in morning while he was still in pjs. He was calm and rested. Unless you go to a barber...
Make sure to eat something before the guests arrive. Go to sleep early the night before so that you are well rested.

If you want to save the hair. Put it in a braid with a ponyholder on top and and bottom. Snip right on top of pony. Stays neat.
