I am 5'2". The length of my dress is mid-calf.

It is fitted until several inches below my hips and then it gradually extends outward as in A-line shape for apr 12-16 inches (give or take).

The fabric is soft and sheer and therefore needs a petticoat at the bottom to give it a slight flair for body.

TIA

Thank you so much ra_mom. Somehow the links you posted don't open. Don't know why.

Can you pls check if it opens by you?

Thanks YM. I added the h as you instructed and it opened. Very Happy

Ra_mom, thanks so much for taking your time to help me. It's so appreciated.

The petticoat you linked would have been perfect had it started flaring several inches lower from the waist, than it's original pattern. At least 6-8" lower..

A longer length petticoat would also be preferable because I need the dress to flair out at the complete bottom, almost to the hemline. I could probably use a petticoat of apr 29-31" length.

Amazon offers free shipping and free returns on that petticoat and I think it's worth trying. I've use petticoats for my girls that were not as long as their dresses and they worked out great.

You can always add a few inches to the slip part of the petticoat to lower the layers.

The mermaid style petticoats I've seen are full 40" length.
