Ahhhh .... those were the days... Rochel Miller (penina klaver, remember ruti navon and ashira?)
A rose unfurls... wakes up the word...
Those were my high school years!!!
I even went to Rochel millers parents home for Sunday morning voice lessons... very small group... anyone know what I’m talking about???
Don’t know the words op, but thanks for the memories

"And I know and see that the mitzvos set me free"
Not sure at all that this is correct, but it is playing in my head this way!

Rochel millers concerts were “the concert” back in the day. She was very famous as were her concerts in the mainstream yeshivish crowd.

Thank you, thank you, Burlywood!
It may or may not be correct, but at the very least it's something to try when I listen again at home tonight. It makes sense grammatically, so by all means I'll have another listen.
Thanks again.
Regards,
Choirmistress

Following up:
Can anyone either confirm/correct Burlywood's earlier best recollection of not five but six syllables, or post Mrs. Miller's email address so that I can finally ask her directly?
TIA,
Choirmistress.

I am looking for lyrics to this song too. Are you able to share what you have?

Hi, ForestGreen.
Here is what I have on file, with the missing six syllables represented by blank underscores.
Burlywood offered what she remembered, but nobody has either confirmed or contradicted her version.
Light Up My Way
When I look at you, I see a happy Jew,
So peaceful, calm, serene, and full of hope.
Can it really be? A man so worry-free?
Someone who has found a way to cope?
When I follow you, and share all that you do,
I feel a yearning for eternal life.
Can it really be? Is it truly as I see,
A way to live to rid this world of strife?
What you see, my friend, is the way of our Torah.
___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ the mitzvos set me free.
And I have no need to worry or despair,
For I trust in Hashem to light up my way.
Now I have no need to worry or despair,
For I trust in Hashem to light up my way.
What you see, my friend, is the way of our Torah.
___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ the mitzvos set me free.
Now I have no need to worry or despair,
For I trust in Hashem to light up my way.
For I trust in Hashem to light up my way.
Trust in Hashem to light up my way.

If you happen to know someone who knows the song, maybe you can get hold of those missing six syllables. I would love to know them myself. In the meantime,
Regards from Toronto.

Thank you so much! It was worth it for me to sign up to Imamother just to get the words to this inspiring song!
And I know and see that the mitzvos set me free?
Or,
And I know it's He and the mitzvos set me free...
?
Would love to know what the original tune is from and who composed these words.
Anyone?
