A different thread got me thinking what are luxuries/extras you give your kids?
I thought it would be interesting to hear what people feel fall in this category or are just staples)

(Ie slurpies, ice cream, pizza, new clothing, electronics, hobbies, collectibles, snacks, in style collectibles...)

During week I try to stick to freeze pops or slush pops & save for shabbos the fancier more expensive ice pops / ice cream pops that I find on sale.

For rosh chodesh I try to buy my kids a special treat to take for recess either like a junky type of treat or like a danish/ indvidual brownie bar etc
Also save the beef meat I find on sale for Rosh chodesh for dinner.

I try to save junk nosh for shabbos party

I am the park mother on the block. Every Friday I take my kids and assorted neighbors to the park for an hour.

I love these already. On the other thread I was thinking I’m such a stingy mom because we never go out for ice cream and pizza. And slurpee is used as prizes.

But we go on major trips all the time.
Every year we get a membership and go all the time (this year it’s six flags). Or we take quick trips to theu beach.
Or pay to send to free swim Sunday afternoons.
I Don’t think of it as a treat - just what we do - maybe I’m not so bad

In the summer I let my kids run in the sprinklers at the park once a week, it's a huge highlight.
Pizza isn't a treat here, it's simply dinner. We don't have it often but it doesn't have treat mentality.
Otherwise, I don't know.
Mishpacha is a treat for me.
Just-because-I-love-you we do hugs and smooches and tickles. (shrug)
