I found minute steak in the freezer and I am going to be out all day. I figured this would be the perfect opportunity to test out a crockpot dinner idea.

I was thinking of making it with either sweet potato or brown rice.

I have a recipe that I use to make it in the oven for 3 hours at 310 with ketchup, garlic powder, soy sauce and brown sugar. How much liquid plus would it need? How long does it cook? Low? High? When to put in the sweet potato or brown rice?

Total crockpot novice except for chulent so TIA

NO liquid! The crockpot makes things very liquidy.
Put cubes of sweet potato underneat. Meat on top. Thick sauce on top of that.
Cover and cook on low about 8 hours.

It was a hit! Ds (who lately never eats a proper supper) requested more fleishy and potatoes. Dh said it was delicious! And he loves the idea of more crock pot dinners.

Thanks!

Bumping this. What sauce do you suggest on top?
Bought some Minute Steak for supper tomorrow and wanted to put it up before I leave to work.

You can use a cup of good quality BBQ sauce like Kraft KC Masterchef and mix it with a generous amount of Italian seasoning.
