It says so on the Brooklyn Public library website, but I dont recall seeing an off hours book drop in the front of the library.

Isnt there a closed gate when the library is closed, and you cant get past the gate?

There’s a book drop but there were a number of times that I dropped books in and they were not scanned as returned so they were considered lost. I don’t use the Book Drop anymore.

What happened? You had to pay for the books?

I've used the 18th avenue one and it got marked as returned.

Doesnt the 43rd street branch have a locked gate when the library is closed?

The drop is there. It’s right by the gate.

Yes I had to pay for them. For example I returned 25 books but one of them never showed up as returned....

They cut a slot into the gate and built a drop off box in the last year or two.

They very recently built a book drop by the gate. I never had an issue yet that they didnt scan it but you can check the next day to make sure they did.

Wow, I see it now, all the way at the end of the gate.
