My son has been wearing underwear all day yesterday and only made once in his underwear (wet).
But, I had to remind him to go each time.
He is also very constipated. So, I gave him prune juice and he
Made number 2 once in the potty.
Today, I think hes holding number 2 in. I gave him prune juice and he
Was crying that he wants his diaper(which I didnt give him).
He still doesnt make on his own(except for a few times). Otherwise, I am constantly reminding him to make and I keep the potty nearby.
Anyone experience this?? With my older son, I didnt have this at all. My older son "took ownership " after he realized he is not having diapers anymore.
Im at a loss.

Stop reminding him to go. It's the only way he'll learn to go on his own. He might make afew accidents till he learns to go on his own, but this is how he'll learn.

My 3.5 year couldn’t care less about taking ownership of his toileting. It was a major process to train him and involve many pee and poop accidents. I believed he would get there eventually, although I don’t really know if that’s true. Even with all our effort he still required a lot of work. I would say give him the diaper because it’s not good if he holds it in.
