Looking for free and inexpensive things to do with kids in Miami this summer. Besides the beach and pool. Any good splash pads? Very cheap water parks? I know the library sometimes has passes to the local attractions. Any tips how to get them? Specific days they’re usually available? Thanks.

Pinecrest gardens is very pretty and has a nice splash pad. I think $5/person admission but I'm not sure. There are also the city pools/ water parks that are free for residents and pretty low cost for others.
Chuck e cheese can be pretty cheap with coupons. 7-11. You can sign up for kids bowl free for some free bowling (Google if you're not familiar). The library is a good place to hang out when it's really scorching, and you can borrow DVDs too.
Ask your local library which day you're most likely to get passes for attractions. There's usually a line before they open.

Are you a Miami Dade resident? If not you aren't able to get any library passes. If yes, they have but they are hard to come by. You have to check availability early in the morning and run to a branch that has it first thing upon opening.
Sugar Sand park in Boca is a really nice park and has a sprinkler area. They also havw a really small two room museum thats free admission. Good for about 20 minutes. They also have a carosel for pay.
Also, this is not free by any means but for just a bit more than the price of going to one attraction one time, you can get a summer savings pass which gives you unlimited access all summer to four attractions. You still have to pay for parking though. If interested, google summer savings pass n

If you have an account with bank of America you can go in for free to select museums, you might need to pay for the kids depending on age. There's some great splash pads in broward county for free check out sun sentinel family events, sometimes they post stuff.

The free bank of American museums are the first full weekend of every month. It's free to get cards for the kids so you don't actually have to pay for anyone.

If the parents have accounts they can request additional cards for each child. They also have free checking accounts for kids but you don't need to do that unless you want it.
