At least to be able to fill changes and tune ups and not be ripped off by the garage
I had a neighbor years ago. This lady did all her own maintenance

Just wondering why some hobbies (e.g. photography or genealogy) would be considered non-feminine.

Geneology is masculine?
I have things I could post, but I feel that I am further entrenching the stereotypes by saing that xyz is masculine. I like it, I do it, and so do many other females. Don't like the gender boxes. I guess my obsessive geekdom and love of anything cosplay related can be considered masculine by some, but I know enough women like me to call it masculine.

I think ‘non-feminine’ doesn’t default to ‘masculine’. There’s a lot of room for neutral.

I’m trying to think of feminine hobbies... knitting?

I'm putting up curtains around the house! Bought a drill and watched da couple YouTube vids.
I'm also repainting all my bedroom furniture. Not sure if that's so non-feminine, though. I'm sanding everything down first, and replacing the hardware.

That is so cool!! I would love to do that! Would you pm me?
Or if you don’t feel comfortable, can you tell me more information? How do I do it, what do I buy? What type of paint, colors... or where to research?

Thanks!!

Hm.
I just went to Lowe’s and bought some wood to build shelving to fit into an oddly shaped space in my house.
I’m also into fashion and like to design clothing.
I actually find the two pretty similar, creatively.

Would love to spread the knowledge and tips!
It's actually really simple, but takes a while. I got a big sanding block https://www.amazon.com/Sackora.....r=8-4
(didn't want to spend money on an electric one, which goes faster btw).
Wipe off sanding dust with damp cloth.
Then use a paint+primer in 1. You can either use a roller, or a big paintbrush and then once coat #1 is dry, sand down the brush strokes.
Then paint coat #2.

Before you start, remove the knobs and drawers/ doors.

And then find some cool knobs!

They aren't. I think was just a chance to post a hobby in an anonymous thread.

Feminine hobbies: (Although any gender can do these I think these are more "girly" considered)

Writing
Dancing
Singing
Art
Makeup
Beauty
Hair
Shopping
Jewelry Making
Knitting
Sowing
Nails

I love doing all of the above (except knitting and sowing). I'm a girly girl through and through.

But I love nature, I love camping out in the world; could care less about shoring for 2-3 days. Idk if that's a "masculine" thing.

I'm curious why any of these are masculine or feminine.
Why do we need to assign hobbies a gender?
