Wanna take a two day trip with nice parks and some historic sites or museums (american history or general history)
Don’t mind a few hour drive from NY
Been to Philadelphia and Washington in the past would enjoy something new.
Any ideas?

It's a day trip but I really like Hyde Park which is FDR's home plus a visit to the Vanderbilt mansion. The contrast between the two homes and what it says about the two families is quite telling.

You can sleep over in Westchester or Monsey, and also visit Kykuit and other historical areas in the lower Hudson Valley.

Another vote for Boston, with amazing history, minyan and kosher restaurants, and other fun attractions. Another option for future travel is Gettysburg, which has a very well-done visitor center and isn't far from Baltimore. Farther south you have Jamestown and Yorktown, together with colonial Williamsburg, which are all near Norfolk, which I believe has one kosher restaurant.

She could do west point museam, tour west point, the Hudson river where the chain was strung across to sink the British ships, bare mountain, Appalachian trail, purple heart museam, bannerman's island, ferry boats. There are a lot of historic sites in Orange County. She could go to the aerodrome and see antique planes. if she goes on a Sunday, she could see a show. There is also a walk across the Hudson.

Eleanor Roosevelts house is in Hyde Park too. Samuel morses house (it's pretty small) is nearby in Poughkeepsie. The walkway across the Hudson is also nearby in Poughkeepsie.
