I'm looking for a sandwich maker that will last, without any plastics pieces breaking off.
Anyone have recommendations?

I got tired of junky sandwich makers so I bought a Panini press instead. It's much easier to use and clean. And no more trying to fit oval shaped bread into square/triangle holes!!

The Cuisinart Panini/Griddler is great and very durable - It's $60.
On the other hand, the first food I made for myself were grilled cheese sandwiches on a Toas-Tite sandwich maker which looked old when I was a child and is still going strong when I haul it out for girls' sleep over parties They seem to have resurrected it as a retro item

Panini press is the best sandwich maker! I can fit three sandwiches at a time, and even stick sliced vegetables in sandwich without cracking the machine. I have mine for a few years already.

I bought this panini press a few years ago and it's holding up very well. I see that they now have a large size which is cheaper than the smaller size that I got and looks even better.
