I put frozen vacuum packed ground beef in the fridge on Wednesday to defrost and still haven't used it. Can I use it Sunday?

Personally, I wouldn't. My policy for frozen ground meat is that I use it within 24 hours once it is thawed. It is more susceptible to spoiling than solid meat because it is chopped up and no longer has it's natural texture. Also, I once got really sick after getting meatballs from a neighbor...

I was taught a day at most, but I guess 2 days would be ok if it was freezer packed, but definitely NOT from wed to sunday. By then I would chuck the lot.
