Freezing food- raw or cooked?

I'm new to the whole freezing food thing. I'm trying to prepare and freeze meals in one or 2 people portions. Should I cook the food and then freeze? Is it safe to prep chicken with seasoning and then freeze and cook after defrosted? Hamburgers? Does it matter in terms of taste- does either raw or cooked food get freezer burned faster?

Basically- for me it's easier to cook it all now and then freeze in smaller portions. But if it will taste better if I freeze raw and cook later then I'll do that.

I cook it until it is juuust barely cooked (or even slightly underdone) and then cook it straight out of the freezer. Once I prepared a lot of shnitzels and froze them raw, and when someone wanted a shnitzel sandwich for a tiyul, I forgot that they weren't yet cooked! Whoops! embarrassed

I prefer to freeze raw, but either way works.

I highly recommend investing in a Foodsaver. It vacuum seals the food and keeps it fresh in the freezer.

Thanks. I'll add the foodsaver for my wish-list for the future :-) Purchasing the little freezer kinda maxed my budget for right now. It does make so much sense to vacuum pack the things though.
