Why don’t you wash it the same way you’d wash any dirty laundry ? Pretreat anything with stains. I use cold water for colors.

This is how I would do it.
Whites-wash in cold water, then another cycle of hot water. I use bleach and pretreat with shout and nature bright but use what works for you.

Colors, cold water. If need be, wash twice if the smell lingers. I also pretreat the stains and let sit for a while.

As thunderstorm said, I’d go the same route as I would normally just maybe more aggressively and wash more than once if needed.

Someone suggested to add ammonia to whatever detergent I was using EXCEPT BLEACH! (Toxic!)

Ammonia removes the stale stink that lingers.

I personally love those downy pellets, Unstoppables.. because it makes the laundry smell delish!

I would wash everything in cold water in vinegar
Then see what is stained pre-treat and wash again
Pre-treat with oxi - make a paste and let it sit on the stain for 24 hrs.
The clothes that are not stained wash with regular detergent to get rub of the vinegar smell

I was gonna also suggest vinegar. sort, then wash each load first in vinegar then normal.

Wash with vinegar, no detergent. Full cycle, not a quick wash.
Then reset the machine and wash all over again, this time with detergent.
I also like Lysol Laundry Sanitizer Additive.

I leave bad smelling laundry soaking in water with lots of detergent (tide) for a good few hours or even overnight. It works like a charm even when repeated washings didn't help.

From experience, place the entire box in the laundry room. Simply wash every single item regularly, through normal cycle. Whites as usual, Towels at least twice, and colors. Then make sure to wipe down, shampoos, shoes etc. before placing them in your closets. Discard the box well outside of your home. Guaranteed they will smell delish...
My kids would come home with their wet towels literally placed on top of all (so called) clean stuff...oh did that smell. Don't worry, you will get clean laundry soon!!

I use ammonia with all of my loads except for the bleach loads. Good for smell and to preserve color.

If you washed everything on hot, the colors will bleed.
Wash everything as you normally would, but add a cup of baking soda to the load (in addition to the detergent).

I second baking soda. And I expect to wash each load twice. That usually takes care of it.

So I ended up buying original tide liquid & mix half with Persil proclean liquid. For colors I bought oxi clean color shield sachets & for whites oxi clean white revive along with bleach. Confused
It’s all coming out clean & yummy smelling & don’t need to do more than one cycle per load! I’d never be done! Have about 4 more still to do!
Thank the good L•rd!!
Oy! Ya yoy!!
