Cooked leeks make a great side to roasts, or blend with mayo and salt/pepper for a leek dip. You can use them anytime a recipe calls for onions, they are supposedly easier for your body to digest than regular onions

I’ve once seen a recipe that was similar to onion kugel . There is a dough/tart shell with a leek filling .

Wrap it around vegetables such as green beans or asparagus to make a "bundle".

I have the best recipe for salmon using sauteed leek in coconut oil (tastes like butter!). You can use butter instead, but this way its pareve.

Sounds amazing! But if you peel each layer and wash then it's not totally whole anymore

Caramelized leeks are great in salads (I'm an especially big fan of them in bean salads). I also like to use caramelized or roasted leeks in quiche.

You can make braised leeks. They are so delicious. There should be lots of recipes online. We use coconut oil.

They go very well with zuccini in a kugel, though I can't find my recipe at the moment.

She probably means to peel back the layers, still attached to the stem.

Caramelized leeks with sauteed mushrooms are a wonderful side dish (although I could eat a pan full all by myself. Very Happy ) If you use the leek/mushroom saute to top off a nice steak it makes a very elegant presentation.

I have a recipe for leek roll ups/rogelleh

saute onion and leeks (sliced/chopped etc)
add salt pepper (bit of sugar if you want)
spread over malawach dough.
roll up and slice (pin wheel)
or
slice malawach like you would for rogelleh and roll up

optional (yum) spread with duck sauce over the top

bake until golden.

My old apartment had some problems with the water pipes. It was one thing after another, and I thought they'd never get fixed.

DD put one in the bathroom, and then yelled
Hidden:

"MAMA, there's a LEEK in the bathroom!"

She filmed my reaction, and put it up on YouTube. LOL Little stinker.

For RH I make keftes de Prasa
Leek Patties

Clean well
Boil until tender
Drain and squeeze as much water as you can

Put cooked leek in the processor with egg salt and pepper.
Form into patties. I make them small.

Dip in egg and crumbs. I use almond flour but you can use corn flake, bread, or matza meal.

Place on parchment and bake 350 until golden
You could also fry them
