I want to fill a vanilla cake with butter cream or whip cream & a strawberry filling made with chunks of fresh strawberry. Anyone have a strawberry filling recipe like that?

I personally would go strawberry shortcake style: layer cake with whipped cream and sliced fresh strawberries. No need for an official strawberry filling!

Do you want your strawberries stay fresh in the filling? This might not be a good idea as they will make everything soggy and sip true the buttercream. Even if you go shortcake route, it can’t be assembled way ahead.
I would cook strawberries with sugar and some soaked gelatin and let it chill. And then use it as a filling.
