Thinking of moving and wondering if it's possible to live on a teacher's salary there.
8 people in the family. I heard that the schools pay much less over there. Any doing it?

Meaning, living on one income for a family of eight? I don't think that's easy anywhere. Tuition is not cheap in schools out of Brooklyn/ Lakewood, can't see it working.

Keep in mind the cost of living is less, but so are salaries. I teach in NJ but when I was starting out I met a recruiter from Broward county at a hiring fair and starting salaries were significantly less than the district I work in. Of course just like here, the salary guide will depend on the district, and more affluent ones may have better pay.
