Front or back? Most four year olds really can't do a good enough job independently in the back. Wet wipes are a must for my kids.

Many 4 year olds can't wipe themselves properly. My 6 year old just got the hang of it & she does a better job than my almost 8 year old.
Wipes do a bettet job then tissues, especially for little kids.

Back. Until now I've done it for her but when she goes to school she has to do it herself

My kids don't use the bathroom in school for this reason, there are no wipes and they can't wipe properly.
It's very common for kids not to use the bathroom for BM in school.

Get her to have a BM in the morning, before school, or when she comes home. Most kids can be put on a schedule. It's very hard for a 4 year old to properly wipe themselves. We do not use wipes. If you must, teach her to take toilet paper, fold it in half twice and wipe once front to back. Show her the movement. Tell her to check if it is dirty and to repeat until there is no longer any dirt on it. I just hope this won't back up the toilets at school.

You can teach her to flush the toilet after wiping 2 times so there are no backed up toilets. I tell my kids to count the squares on the toilet paper to give them an idea how long it should be. A 4 year old can learn to wipe themselves. I do not recommend wipes even if they are flushable. They cause major plumbing problems.
