My DS's bar mitzvah teacher is a real mensch. He is doing a fabulous job with DS and yet has said he wants nothing in return. what shall we do?

Is he invited to the bar mitzvah? If he shows maybe you can honor him in some way?

Is he married? Could you ask his wife if there is anything he would want.

Voucher for a Judaica/book store?

A gift certificate for something he would enjoy. And not for $18 but not too close to whatever the going rate is for bar mitzvah teachers so he won't feel uncomfortable.

Mazel tov!

Money. No gift. Make it a visa and you can create your own, with a picture of your son on it in tefillin or dressed up etc..

I have given such visa cards so many times as gifts, people LOVE em!

Very simple to do, so long as you have an image on your computer that you want to use. Or just upload one from a camera.

It's a beautiful way to pay him but not be crass. You can give anywhere between 5 and $500 on their site. No charge to do it!

Usually. In this case, not.
