I’m a terrible faster. As in I never fast. But I’d like to try. What are the best foods to eat before a fast? Anything unique that I may not have heard of?

Other tips are appreciated too!

Hydration is the key. Don’t stress the food as much.
You should start fueling up a few days before.

Water!!! But don't just drink a ton an hour before the fast. Throughout the week before, drink more water. Also, don't snack in the days approaching the fast, and try to eat only as much as you really need to make your stomach smaller and accustomed to less food.

Pineapple is good, it keeps the liquid in your body.
So I'm usually making a salad of grapes anf watermelon (watery fruit) with pineapple

Not salty food that makes you thirsty for hours but in general, salt retains water. You want your body to retain the water you drink.

So practically speaking, what should I be eating that has salt?
