I always say it “take the gun. Leave the cannoli.” Is that not right?

Oh and whenever we’re going somewhere and the kids cut in front of me I yell “Hey! I’m walkin’ here!”

I grew up with heimish films and the Hasc musical was a favorite.

"That's a lot of soldiers for a little town like chelm!"

"Were you there then, Zaidy?"

"When Shabbos comes out on Wednesday, and Wednesday will be Shabbos!"

"I looove applause."

But more recent favorites are "obviously," in a very cold tone to quote Snape, followed by a nasally mimicking "obviously" to quote Crowley.

I also use "There is no spoon," though I can't remember why it's relevant as frequently as it is.

And of course... "Bowties are cool."

And when a baby misbehaves I call them "Stormageddon, Dark Lord of all."

It's actually "Leave the Gun, Take the Cannoli" - Clemenza is chubby and has been assigned the task of killing Paulie who betrayed the family and was involved in the execution of Sonny. Clemenza is shown getting ready in the morning at his home and his wife reminds him to pick up cannoli for dessert.

The gun, the car, the body - they are all meaningless and just part of his job. What was important was for Clemenza to remember banal task of bringing home dessert for his family. Part of the artistic genius of The Godfather which elevates it from the ordinary gangster movie is the intertwining of the corruption and the family on all levels.

This is an excellent explication of the specific scene if you are interested
