What communities are 1-2 hours from Monsey? Do any of them have cheaper rent and tuition???

You can live more on the outer end of Monsey and have very reasonable rent. Many families do that and are very happy.

Tuition in Monsey is the same as any other mainstream frum community...

I wouldn’t consider 1-2 hours commutable, would you? In NY traffic and weather that can easily double. When I hear commutable I think under and hour

Moving to far away from Monsey will cause an increase in tuition. You can live in Northern Jersey. Those communities are pricier but more chilled.

You need to live somewhere close to Monsey to take advantage of busing to private schools. That cost should factor into your decision.

Scranton is 2 hours from monsey. But thats 2 hours on interstate highways. And in bad weather, do you really want to be driving that far?

Passaic /Clifton - many people from Passaic send to Monsey schools and many of the teachers /Rebbeim in our schools are from Monsey. So the commute seems doable.

Even the outer communities are not cheap. Rent in my "newer outer community" goes for $1700-$1800 for a two bedroom. Not so reasonable if you ask me. Housing has gone up in most communities and it is hard to find something decent for under 450k-500k.
