I am ordering custom master beds.
I can't decide between vinyl or velvet. I want the more practical option.
The store says both are, in different ways.
Velvets can't be wiped down, but are more resistant to scratches than vinyl.
What's your experience with either of the 2 fabrics?

I currently have a velvet bed that I had custom made and I really love the way it looks. In my opinion it is much more elegant than a vinyl bed but of course that's personal taste.
I don't do anything to my headboard that needs wiping down. If anything a couch Is more susceptible to spills.
There are different qualities and wear resistance of velvets. What specifically is the fabric you are using? Cotton velvet, polyester velvet; mohair velvet; silk velvet all have different qualities and functionality. And some velvet fabrics are treated for stain resistance - I have a velvet chaise and my designer brought me a swatch to test with various stains because I was hesitant about a chaise in a light color velvet.
