Do most use their car when going from place to place in Washington D.C.?

And should the fact that weather will be in the 90s change Washington D.C. vacation plans (although upstate will be in 90s too)?

We went by car.

I don't think I'd go with the weather that hot, but I really hate the heat.

Where can you park the car coming from NY if you use the metro in DC?

Keep it at your hotel. Or a parking lot

I was hoping for a better option than $62 per night in hotel parking. Oh well!

When I went to Washington DC I found parking near the WH for $20/day and got around everywhere by foot. It was fine.

That’s outrageous. What fancy hotel has such high parking rates? We’ve sometimes had luck finding a parking lot near the hotel

Not. I got a great room rate. I think they are making up the money with the parking fees. Capitol Hill area.
