Daughter is starting HS (a Flatbush BY). What kind of bags/knapsacks do girls wear these days?
She doesn't know what to get and couldn't decide in the stores.

Be a leader, not a follower.
Find one that you (she) likes and that makes her smile. Keep it clean and neat. Carry it with confidence.

I respectfully disagree with this advice. Adolescents gain confidence from fitting in. Find out what other girls in the school will be using and get something similar. My H.S. daughter reports that in her school sporty brand names (e.g. Adidas, Nike, New Balance, etc.) are in, while brands like Hershel, Kipling, etc are not. It may be school-specific, however, so I would check with others who attend the school she is going to.

Saw something similar (also Adidas) in the store today and dd didn't like it (it did feel kinda flimsy, practically speaking)

My dd likes this one, but it’s more than my budget (although it claims to have a lifetime warranty), so I’m trying to hold out for something more reasonable. . .

Ouch, yes, it's expensive. Maybe check Marshalls, TJ Maxx, Burlington?

We ended up with this one.

https://www.amazon.com/PUMA-Un.....=8-14

DD is happy with the style, and I’m happy with the price. Smile I offered her a choice of this along with something else she wanted (since the price was significantly less than her original choice) or getting a more expensive backpack - and she chose this option.
