Hi! I'm looking for ideas for a day trip for my family- kids under 10, mostly outdoors, not pricey. We have an opportunity to do a family trip and I want to try to do something fun outdoors. We have a baby, so something baby friendly and not too much of a drive from Queens, NY.
I would appreciate any tried and true ideas
Thank you!

Governors Island is great. You can pay for parking in lower Manhattan near the ferry or take public whichever is easier/cheaper. The ferry is very cheap and we just go to the parks/slides we don't pay for anything once we're on the island.

I see others have mentioned as well, Governers Island is great!
You go with the ferry, then they have a playground, giant slides, a zipline, climbing wall, mini golf. You could also rent family bikes and regular bikes.
