My husband would like to take my 2 boys age 12 and 14 away overnight (from Brooklyn). Would travel 3-4 hours. Any great outdoors ideas that don’t cost a ton? No amusement parks.

Thank you

The poconos has alot of outdoor activities.
Vermont, New Hampshire, and Jiminy Peak are good choices as well.

They can rent a house in hunter or tannersville
There’s the hunter Mountain chairlift
Hiking on hunter mountain
Many gorgeous parks with lakes for boating, swimming, ball playing...
They can get a bike rack and take their bikes since it’s a great place for biking
Minyanim in hunter and tannersville
Kosher Grocery store and pizza in tannersville
There’s a place with go carting, miniature golf, batting cages

We rented a house with a deck and our kids made bbqs outside every night

If you are interested I can give you more info on hunter and tannersville

Where is the go cart place? Can you share more information about hunter/tannersville? Thanks.

Look through this for many ideas in the area
https://view.flipdocs.com/?ID=.....P=0#1

The go carting is called putting plus - it’s a small place also has miniature golf there and batting cages

I forgot- my kids also went horseback riding- there’s a few places for that. We went to bailiwick farms... not cheap but when else would they do it??

We went to a dude ranch. We couldn't eat there, obviously, so we slept in a near homewood suites. The day pass wasn't terribly expensive.
We had 2 horse back riding session, an archery range, paddle boats.....
The place we went to closed in May, but maybe you have interest in googling another place like that.
