Can someone please explain to me where the torah origin is for this loving relationship with hashem is? If we look at yesterdays parsha, we see hashem defining his relationship with us. The parsha says that if we follow hashems rules and commandments he will bless us more than anyone on earth. If c'vs we don't follow the commandments he will curse and annihilate us. Where is the source that hashem is so kind and is patiently waiting for us to turn to him, and cherishing all our tefilos, and working everything out for our good? I realize it's a nice thought, but it sure seems to conflict with the actual words of the torah. It seems hashem is presenting us with an ultimatum. Do good and I'll reward you. Do bad and I'll kill you.
What am I missing???
