Serious question. I'm just curious
Now that the new school year is starting and schools are so strict,

did you vaccinate?
Are you home schooling?
Are you getting around the system?
What are people doing?

I gave the mmr.
I'm not in the US and my kids school hasn't asked for 'records.
I will start giving vaccines slowly. And responsibly.
Waiting for a cough to go away.

My concerns of vaccines didn't change over night, school or not. There are other options.

I'm curious what your plans for your children are. Are you homeschooling alone or joining a co-op or moving?

I know a non vax family that vaccinated their kids because of school.
And my Dr office says theyve had many many families who were previously against vaxing come in for immunizations.

They probably still are. If the RE is re-instated, they will make use of it. Forcing people into doing something against their will does not mean they changed their mind.

How many of those people were not against vaccination prior to a propaganda campaign directly targeted at them?

How many actually think there is medical harm?

How many are "anti-vax" purely as protest?

That's the million dollar question. What % of new parents who have not personally had bad experiences from vaccines, are persuaded not to vaccinate by social media such as the anti-vax posters on this site

I can only talk for myself and the anti-vax people I know who have recently vaccinated. I didn't vax yet, but I know I may be forced to do so to keep my kids in school. I didn't suddenly become convinced of the benefits of vaccines. Everyone else I know has the same mentality. They are anti-vax, some for decades, but see themselves as left with no choice.

Being "anti-vax" was not previously an acceptable reason to not vaccinate you children in New York. Nothing has change.

You can be both "anti-vax" and still vaccinate. Life sometimes means doing things we are against - because they are required.

I respect the position that says "The government shouldn't be effectively forcing me to inject things in to my children"

I don't understand your post.

Being anti-vax was absolutely an acceptable reason to not vaccinate.

And yes, I agree with you that someone can be anti-vax and still vax when they have no choice. No judgment there.

There were two options.

1) Medical - child cannot tolerate vaccines
2) Religious - my religion does not permit vaccination.

There was no "I'm against this" option.

What's a religious exemption if not "I'm against this"?

Where is religion in the statement "I am against this"?

That's a statement of personal protest.

IMHO its preferable to remove the religious exemption, then push the state to be interpreters of what a religion does or does not permit.... because it wouldn't end well.

I am against this would be a philosophical exemption, which was NOT available in NY. One of the reasons NY abolished the religious exemptions was , when DOH spoke to various religious leaders, rabbis etc. They realized that many people were using I'm against this as an excusebthatbits religion....
