What can I add to my washing machines load to keep shirts white. I know I can spray collars and cuffs with oxi.
Looking for something in wash, I already use bleach.
Or a presoak.

Keeping shirts white needs work.
I find only oxi spray and scrubbing works.
Sorry!

I have heard that bleach actually turns the shirts yellow, eventually. Not verified.

Yes, bleach turns protein stains (including sweat) yellow. Bleach is good for other dinginess, but don’t use it on things that have sweat. Bleach also has a pretty short shelf life (6months or so), so make sure you’re bottle is still good. You want to be using oxiclean or the like. Bluing is also great for adding a bright white look.

How do you get yellow stains out of the under arms?

Soak for several days in oxiclean mixed with the warmest water the shirt will take. Every day, refresh the water and scrub the area with oxiclean. After it is looking better, wash on warmest allowed for shirt and add bluing to the loaf. Line dry to make sure you’re happy with how it came out. If you notice this is happening then try not to put the shirt in the dryer until you can attend to the staining as that will make it easier.

If she’s talking about what I think she is, then you can get it at Target, Walmart, Amazon, or wherever has a decent selection of laundry products. I use the brand name one Oxiclean White Revive but there are genetics too.

BH my boys white school shirts stay white and they are very active - biking, fishing, ball playing...
Wash in hot water.
Use soak cycle. I soak 1 hour.
Bleach + detergent
Use longest wash cycle.
Use rinse cycle after. (Supposedly it removes soap residue so dirt doesn’t stick)
