We've been loving plain old mashed potatoes. We serve alongside it sauted onions and garlic and crispy beef dry for whoever likes.

A bit decadent: Bake beef fry, and then roast potatoes in the fat with a little extra oil. There are some great recipes out there. I'd dig up mine but I've adapted it to use less beef fat and don't have precise measurements. You'll also see red potatoes, olive oil, and mustard in the ingredients.

doughless potato knish with mushroom sauce. I usually make the recipe up on the spot though. you can probably google a recipe. its basically sauteed onions, cooked and mashed potatoes, eggs, flour, bit of oil and spices. baked for an hour and a half in kugel pan, sliced into squares and a spoonful of mushroom sauce on top.

I don't use a recipe, but you can roast an equal mix of regular (or Yukon gold) and sweet potatoes. Just be careful that it's fully cooked, because the cooking times might be a little different for both types.

If you want something that reheats well, make the potatoes stovetop, like sauteed. Roasted potatoes don't reheat nicely, they kind of dry out.

chicken pastrami potato pot pie recipe

9" tart shell
1 pk pastrami chopped
chicken cutlet thinned
mashed potatoes
sauteed onions

Dressing: 3 T mayo, 3T ketchup, 3 T mustard, 2 T duck sauce, 1 T honey, 1 T apricot jam.

layer bottom with pastrami to cover, Dip cutlets in dressing & layer to cover pastrami, combine potatoes, sauteed onions & spices & flatten on top. Egg wash & sprinkle with cornflake crumbs on top. Bake covered 1 hr & uncovered 15 min.

I freeze for yom tov. Serve either a slice of big pie or do in smaller 4" tarts for each person an individual pie as main dish
