I heard mixed info about lab diamonds but don’t know anyone who actually owns one.
Does anyone have one or has seen one ?
I am very interested in purchasing but I’m skeptical that they are too good to be true.
Thoughts or feedback anyone?
Background - we are upgrading my ring for anniversary. I am seeing that I get get what seems to be a massive upgrade if I take the Lab diamond route . But don’t want to be let down...

They are literally just diamonds, but slightly cheaper and less likely to be yellow.

I was told that if it gets hot from steam while I’m cooking it will crack.

Nope, I believe that’s a Clarity Enhanced diamond. That I was told for certain that the integrity and strength of the diamond is compromised.
The Lab grown diamonds are supposedly formed pretty much the same way and same composition. But seems too good to be true to me yet I don’t see any bad reviews anywhere

You're thinking of lab grown diamonds as too good to be true, but really it's mined diamonds that have inflated pricing and by their actual rarity should cost a lot less than they do.

He has a vested interest in getting people to buy real diamonds. I have no stake in this but I'm curious if that's true.

Lab created diamonds are fancy cz, they are diamonds created artificially.
They should be cheaper than the real thing and resale value is lower too.
They can’t be certified by gia or the like because they are not real diamonds.
If you don’t care that is not real is fine, I think that they look too good and too nice to be real, but everyone is different.
A regular person can’t see the difference, a jeweler can.
You can google it and read about it

The steam->crack warning may be a misunderstanding based on enhanced diamonds.
Diamonds are often cleaned with steam. If the steam in the cleaning process exceeds 700 degrees (390F) then the filler in enhanced diamonds can melt or discolor. Unless you routinely stick your bare hands into 700 degree furnaces, it wouldn't seem like something to worry about.
Also, if you leave your ring finger in sunlight for 1000 hours, it might discolor the filler in some diamonds. (that's 41 days straight)

They aren’t fancy cz, they are carbon.
gia grades them, gia doesn’t certify any diamonds.

They will eventually lose their value. As time progresses more and more lab machinery will be available and everyone will have access to purchase them and produce diamonds. Lab grown diamonds will be a commodity.

Natutal diamonds come from the Earth while lab grown diamonds are man-made. They are essentially the same except lab grown diamonds have ZERO RESALE VALUE! I know from a fee jewelers and the wholedale price is VERY CHEAP!!

Earth mined diamonds are plentiful in nature. They also do not do anything that lab diamonds don't do, and they will fall in value from the increase in lab diamonds. Nothing about them is more "real" just because they are from the Earth.

I apologize I made a mistake. I didn't hear it about lab grown diamonds but about natural diamonds that are treated with laser to remove spots. I'm sorry I have no experience or knowledge about lab grown diamonds
