Looking for ideas for meals to prep in advance for a toddler for yom kippur?
Also any toys people can recommend we buy for a 3yo boy to use on yom kippur?

What does he normally eat? My toddler eats sandwiches, cottage cheese, hard cheese, yogurt, cold cuts , etc. That plus snacks is what she will eat on YK.

I would make whatever food you can just take out and give to him, cereal, prepared sandwiches, snacks etc-imagine he was going out for the day and needed to take things with.
re toys-mine loved a giant wooden trainset we got. Also playmobil goes down well, or duplo (the bigger size than lego).
Just beware that sometimes the toys you think they will play with for hours, they don't. Recently, when I was on holiday I bought them a couple of cute toys for them to play with over shabbos-thought they would play for hours with them-they played for 5 minutes and then 'mommy, we're bored'
Do you have family or neighbours nearby? I've done toy swaps for yom kippur-it's something new for them to play with and it doesn't cost anything (don't lend anything you'd be upset to have lost or broken)

Will your kids eat room temp pasta.
When the kids were little I was not concern with nutrition on fast days.
Also I had my cleaning lady come for the day
It was my YT gift from DH
I rather a cleaning lady than a new dress

Just prepare a bunch of sandwiches and chicken nuggets. Yogurt for snack.
Activities: get a million cars and trucks and one of those carpets that has streets and houses. Go to the library and stock up on books. Get a magnet activity to play with on the fridge. Big wooden beads and long string. Attach a piece of contact paper to the wall, sticky side outward, and give the kid a bunch of things to stick to it (popsicle sticks, pipe cleaners, feathers, pompoms)

Yom Kippur's not the 9 days. It's more like Shabbos so we would stick with Shabbos/enjoyable foods. Shabbos cereal, deli sandwiches and pickles, and Shabbos type treats.

How does a cleaning lady help? Do you mean babysitter?
