I had a bunch of soft browning fruits so I made compote with it but it literally was brown on the inside. Will it still taste good?

Yes - makes the best type of compote. The browning brings out a real sweetness. Cut off anything that doesn't look good when chopping the fruit for compote. Just don't use any fruit that has mold on it.

I see you wrote the entire inside is brown. Taste a cube of it. If it tastes good raw then it will make a good compute.

As long as not spoiled moldy. If just overripe it should be fine

No mold just pretty much all brown inside. I’m very squeamish and didn’t have the courage to taste it.

Sure. My compote is always brown as prunes are the base. No one complains.
