Friend is having surgery today.
I have chicken cutlets with soy sauce and brown sugar on them in the oven.
I made sautéed cabbage with garlic and onions.
I am boiling pasta as I type.
Any ideas of what to put on the pasta? I don't think tomato sauce or Italian/pasta salad goes with the others, and garlic/onion is already on the cabbage. A rice would have been better but I am out and she doesn't eat quinoa or bulger.
Need ideas to be super easy and basic.
Thank you in advance.

What, kind of pasta? You can do a soy sauce / sesame kind of dressing to go with the chicken

I made tri-colored bow-ties.
Soy is redundant.
Would a sesame/PB work? I know she likes PB noodles, but seems weird on this pasta.
This is why I hate cooking for people.
When I have company, I make 1000 things and people can pick what they like and what works for them.

No I was thinking of Susie fishbein recipe with marinate grilled chicken over matching angel hair. It goes well together.
Italian dressing and halved black olives. Usually a kid favorite but then I wouldn't make tri colored for an adult anyways.

Trim colored bow ties? Make a pasta salad out of it.

I would lightly dress the pasta with some garlic and sesame oil. Maybe a tiny bit of soy sauce. If the chicken is more saucy then the pasta can be more plain.

Toss the pasta with the sauteed cabbage. You can add a sesame seeds if you so choose.

I would leave pasta plain. (Drop of olive oil and salt)
Other dishes have lots of flavor already.
