They are absolutely, completely kosher. OU-D.

I understand that you don't hold by OU-D. But its not that its not kosher.

I didnt say it's not kosher.

I said, I have no interest in traif food.

I do however dream of all the delicious ice cream and chocolate I could have if they were cholov yisroel. It's also a category of food I can't have.

I’ve had it made kosher. It was like cutting into a pus pimple. Gobs and gobs of melted fat squirting out with every stab of the fork. Pretty gross to look at. Being that it was at a meal to break a fast, I wasn’t repelled enough not to eat it, but have never had any desire to repeat the experience.

Wow, the visual! TMI

Just curious - does bacon/pork taste more like beef or lamb?

Bacon is super salty and fatty and crispy. Pork roast tastes more like chicken cutlets, and pork chops have the feeling of lamb chops but the flavor is different.

Didn’t do my shirtfront any favors, either.

I didn't grow up frum. All my favorite foods were very, very treif: cheeseburgers, pepperoni pizza, chicken parmesan sandwiches, turkey and cheese sandwiches, LOBSTER (a rare expensive treat, but my absolute favorite dipped in butter), Mexican food - tacos and burritos with both meat and cheese - linguine with clam sauce, fettucine alfredo with shrimp or chicken, spaghetti with meat sauce and parmesan cheese....

My family honestly didn't think I'd be able to keep kosher. B"H 9+ years and still going strong! (But I always say that if I lived in America I would have a really hard time with that mitzvah.)

I've never had it, but I doubt that's how it should be if its made well.

It's definitely not how every kosherized version looks. Mine looked pretty much how it looked on pinterest. I don't know if it tasted authentic, but it was excellent.

The article in Family First this week about people who went kosher, reminded me of this thread!!!

I sometimes miss Mexican food that has dairy & meat, but really, I can't imagine how people don't eat kosher, it's so much better honestly lol

I'm super curious about the price difference.
How can (silly example but I went past an ad for this today) a burger and fries be 99p at a Macdonalds but £9.99 at a kosher meat place?!
