Tell me about your experience with enrolling children in martial arts classes. Karate, tae kwon do, judo, etc.

Which martial art did your child do?
How did you pick that one?
How old was your child when you started?
Did your child like it?
Did you think it was a positive experience with positive effects?
How long did your child continue it?

Thanks in advance!

My child took classes in krav maga at around age 8. He loved it, and it was very beneficial for him both physically and emotionally. I chose it because it was an affordable option that worked with my schedule 😁

There is no such thing as too young to start. My kids started in kindergarten. It helps core strength, focus, discipline. I love that my girls can protect themselves.
I just picked whatever was close to home and convenient. I didn't know or care about one style over another.

I've enrolled my children in Karate since age 3. I chose karate because it was available, but also because it focuses on hands and feet, as well as stances and posture v taekwondo, which mainly focuses on feet/kicks. I hope they will stay with it for a long time, but assume they will stop when their cheder discusses how wrong it is. Very positive experience so far.
