When we needed our iPad repaired, we found a professional repair operation on Ebay that even with the cost of shipping came out much cheaper than getting it repaired locally. Make sure to choose a place with lots of (recent) positive reviews.

I noticed that Staples advertises screen repair but I know nothing about it.
You can also try the Geek Squad in Best Buy.
